Garfield Heights to Celebrate 19th Annual Black History Program in February 2025

Garfield Heights, OH — The Citizens for a Better Community (CFABC) is set to host the 19th annual Garfield Heights Black History Program in February 2025. This event has become a hallmark of the city’s efforts to honor and celebrate African American heritage, bringing together residents to reflect on the significant contributions of African Americans throughout history.

Since its inception in 2005, the program has been spearheaded by Mike Dudley Sr., a prominent community leader and President of CFABC. Over the years, the event has grown in both size and influence, offering a platform for education, cultural expression, and community solidarity. The 18th annual event in February 2022 marked nearly two decades of dedication to preserving and promoting Black history in Garfield Heights.

The upcoming program in 2025 promises to continue this tradition, featuring a range of activities designed to engage and inspire attendees. Past events have included powerful performances, thought-provoking speeches, and educational presentations, all aimed at fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity within the community.

Importantly, the Garfield Heights Black History Program is privately funded, ensuring that it remains accessible to all residents without placing a financial burden on taxpayers. This community-driven approach has been key to the program’s longevity and success, making it a beloved annual tradition in Garfield Heights.

Residents and local leaders alike are eagerly anticipating the 19th edition of this event, which not only celebrates Black history but also serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to promote equality and inclusivity within the city.
